Mastermind Groups

What is a mastermind group? A mastermind group is a small group of two or more individuals dedicating themselves to a specific goal.

Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, first defined the mastermind as a “coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.” Hill’s concept of the “Master Mind” was inspired by Andrew Carnegie, wealthy steel magnate. Carnegie was known to utilize Master Mind groups early in his legendary career.

According to Hill: “Mr. Carnegie’s Master Mind group consisted of a staff of approximately fifty men, with whom he surrounded himself, for the DEFINITE PURPOSE of manufacturing and marketing steel. He attributed his entire fortune to the POWER he accumulated through this ‘Master Mind.’”

Since the publication of Think and Grow Rich in the 1937, the idea of mastermind groups has grown and evolved to become a staple tool of successful individuals.

What are the benefits of belonging to a Master Mind group?

  1. You’re not alone. A group of people are always more powerful than a single individual when sharpening your business practices.
  2. Each person will approach the subject of the group from a different perspective. Differing perspectives can be helpful when in comes to improving your business.
  3. Each member of the Master Mind group have their own advisors. In other words, you not only get the knowledge and experience of the members of the group, but of the people that advise and support each of the members.
  4. Accountability, inspiration from the group, maintain focus in achieving your goals.

Napoleon Hill said: “No two minds ever come together without, thereby, creating a third, invisible, intangible force which may be likened to a third mind.” Think of yourself as a member of a professional sports team. You have a bench of players to draw from to give you support and inspiration. Your experience and knowledge will equal companies much larger than your own. Consider this your own personal board of directors.

Some of the Master Mind groups that are now operating at ELC Roundtable are:

* Intigration – a group of members wanting to instill spiritual practices into their daily business lives.
* Internet marking – a group of members that have not had a great deal of experience with marketing on-line. Their goal is to implement a marketing program that will increase revenue by 25%.
* The Net Worth Builders – a group of members that have a net worth of $5 million dollars each. This group will discuss the investing methods that are proving successful in a tough economy.

Other groups are meeting currently and more are forming all of the time. We encourage you to use our meeting facilities to host your group. We have wireless internet, private meeting areas, copiers and printers, projectors, and screens. We stock our space with water, soft drinks and coffee. And there is no charge for any of the above items.

It’s very simple to form your own group. Simply find at least one other like-minded person that has a similar business or personal goal. Determine your time and day of the week you wish to meet and talk to your facilitator. That time will be scheduled on our calendar and the meeting space will be reserved. There are no restrictions on subject matter, size of the group, day or time you meet. We encourage autonomy and will be supportive of any reasonable request.

Please click on the button below to submit your idea for a Master Mind group. Your facilitator will be in touch to discuss the idea and get enough information to post the announcement on our web site. An email will be sent to all the members notifying them of the new Master Mind group. We are excited you have chosen to accelerate the growth of your business or personal life and look forward to your submission.
